Police sturtled as Sharks, Simba and Strathmore shine in Easter Hockey clash

Nairobi, April 9..It was a case of the Russian roulette for the Kenya Police as the Kenya Hockey defending champions got off to their worst start of the hockey season.

After suffering a shock defeat to an on-form Wazalendo, the cops went on to crush to a 3 – 2 defeat at the hands of Nairobi Simba on Sunday 8th April. The loss leaves the defending champions in a precarious position best summed up as “being three points below league new comers Mombasa Sports Club (MSC) with MSC having a match at hand”.

KHU mens national league side Kimathi University Titans were on a goal scoring spree over the weekend with a well deserved win over Daystar University Students. Womens league side Sliders also registered its first win in several weeks of play.

The weekend games saw Kimathi put 6 goals past the Daystar students with no response. The win gave the Titans a boost in the table standings, moving two places up to position 2  with 11 points, one behind league leaders Nakuru Athletics. Nakuru were not in action this weekend.

Sliders dramatic 2 – 0 win over USIU-A ladies was the game to watch on Saturday. Going into the match, Sliders had a winless streak and were in a battle for survival.
