Scorpions sting KU in varsities tie

It was goals galore when Strathmore University and the United States International University-Africa (USIU-A) crushed their opponents as the women’s hockey league entered the second leg on Saturday at the City Park Stadium.

What was expected to be a tight varsity derby turned out to be a one-sided affair when Lilian Aura and Rachel Ousa scored a brace each to spur Strathmore’s Scorpions to an emphatic 6-0 victory over Kenyatta University (KU).

A potentially-explosive varsity derby takes place on Saturday when Kenyatta confront in-form Strathmore at City Park in one of the three women’s hockey league ties this weekend.

Strathmore out to regain top-slot in the KHU weekend action


June, 29, 2012 – Nairobi… It is another exciting weekend with big games comming up again in the Kenya Hockey Union mens premier league. Seasoned Greensharks hope to move back to the top four if they manage to sail past a determined KCA side on Sunday at 4pm at City Park Nairobi.

Also at the same venue, former champions Strathmore Gladiators plan to rise back to the top position in the league if they manage to get past USIU-A on Saturday at 6pm.

KHU Mens Premier League title chase on the line..

Friday 22 June, Nairobi..The Kenya Hockey Union League matches continue this weekend with matches across Kenya.

KHU premier league Champions and Africa Cup Bronze medalists Kenya Police takes their title defence to Kisumu City and Kakamega town. The cops meet Western Jaguars in Kakamega on Saturday at 3:00pm in what is expected to be a tough match for both teams. Jaguars will be banking on the support of its home teams while the Kenya Police team will be banking on its experience to counter any attempts by their hosts.

Nairobi, April 9..It was a case of the Russian roulette for the Kenya Police as the Kenya Hockey defending champions got off to their worst start of the hockey season.

After suffering a shock defeat to an on-form Wazalendo, the cops went on to crush to a 3 – 2 defeat at the hands of Nairobi Simba on Sunday 8th April. The loss leaves the defending champions in a precarious position best summed up as “being three points below league new comers Mombasa Sports Club (MSC) with MSC having a match at hand”.
